Testing Makeup Revolution Products!

Testing out Makeup Revolution Makeup | Full Face First Impression

Hi guys,
I've seen many youtube videos of full face first impressions, and one brand tutorials. So, I decided that I would start doing Full Face First Impressions of one brand.

This week, I tested out makeup from Makeup Revolution!

If you've followed me for a while on my channel, you'll know that I LOVE Makeup Revolution products, as they're very high quality for such an affordable price, and have some incredible dupes for high end products!

I've only tried blushes, liquid lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes from this brand before, so thought that it would be great to test out some other products from them. I have never tried any foundations, concealers, eyeliners or mascaras from them before, so decided to purchase some, and put them to the test. As I've never tried out these specific items before, it is a complete first impression on these types of products from Makeup revolution.

Check out my full face first impression (above), and my Makeup Revolution haul (below). I'll give you a little sneak peek with the first impression - some products I loved, and some I actually hated!

Products I tested out:
I heart Chocolate & Peaches Palette
Amazing Liquid Eyeliner - Waterproof
The Viper Mascara - Black
Ultra Brow Arch & Shape - Medium
Ultra Face Base Foundation  - FB03
Focus & Fix Liquid Concealer - 02 Fair
Luxury Powder - Banana
Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Palette
Salvation Liquid Lip Lacquer - What I Believe

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette First Impression!

05:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

A couple of weeks ago, I uploaded a new first impression on the Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette - I did a first impression review on the Powder Contour Palette here. I have added the full first impression to this blog post - above.

I have added some swatches - from my first impression video - below so that you can see the difference between all of the shades.

The palette retails for £8, and you get 8 different shades - 1 shimmer, 3 contours/bronzers, 1 beige, 2 pink/salmon shades and one yellow shade.

The consistency of these is pretty good, and they feel creamy without being super oily. The shades which I have used are the darkest cool toned brown, the yellow shade, and the shimmery white. These both have different consistencies and are different in terms of coverage.

The yellow is very pigmented, blends incredibly and like a dream, and gives a medium coverage - although I still need to use concealer over the top. This is great as a highlighter, and is the perfect shade for my skin when I am self tanned - Estee Lauder Double Wear 1W2 & 2W1 mixed.

The contours on the other hand, are just really not that good. The pigmentation is ok, but they don't blend out too well, and you have to constantly build them up. As been as I don't have anywhere near olive/tanned skin, I expected these to be pretty dark, when in reality they just were too pale. When I notice that I used the darkest shade and it didn't really contour, I just don't think these shades are too versatile.

The shimmer shade is pretty good. It's pretty pigmented and you can build this up very well, however, it looked a little like a disco ball on me. I think it's great for if you just want to us it on camera because t's super shimmery, but it just doesn't look all too good in person. I think I was a little underwhelmed with this, as it didn't blend out very well at all.

Overall, I think this palette is good, especially if you don't have a lot of money, and if you're looking not experimenting with cream contour, however, I don't reach for this and I have other products in m makeup collection which are just a lot better.

April Hits & Misses!

09:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

So, it's been a while since I did a 'favourites' video, so thought that as it's the first 'Favourites' video this year, I'd change it up a little.

Now, the reason I haven't uploaded a 'Favourites' video in a long time, is because I didn't really try out any new products which had the WOW factor, and I didn't really try out many new products really.

As I have been testing out some new products - some have been great, and some have been completely crap - I thought that I would make these videos include my hits and misses. I prefer watching these types of videos, because I love to know what works, and what doesn't work. And recently, I have tried out quite a few products which really didn't work, and aren't worth the money.

This isn't to say that I hate everything from the brands that are featured under the 'misses' category, it just shows specific products which I felt didn't work for me.

As I've been doing quite a few First Impressions videos, I thought the best way to give you a little update, was to include them in this video, an I have to say, my first impressions haven't turned out too well so far this year!

I haven't just included products which I have tested out this month, I've also included my favourite movies!

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

Makeup Revolution Lip Lava Liquid Lipsticks: Review + Swatches!

04:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

If you have seen my channel a lot through out last year, you will know that I am obsessed with Makeup Revolution.

I started purchasing these liquid lipsticks around a year ago, and recently purchased the Red lipstick, a couple of weeks ago. I purchased these for £2.99 each from the Makeup Revolution Website and Superdrug. This is a great price, as what first drew me to these, was that these are a dupe for the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks - and who doesn't want to get they hands on those?

As I've had these lipsticks for around a year, I feel like now is the best time for me to do a full review and swatches, as I feel like I know heir pros and cons, as I've worn these A LOT!

Above, is the my full review video, and below are the swatches along with their names.

Enjoy,

All Pink Summer Makeup Tutorial!

04:46 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

It's officially summer, and I thought I would show you a tutorial on the make-up you have been seeing me wear in my videos for the last couple of weeks.

Theres shimmer on the eyes, lips and face, as well as Pink everywhere too!

The eye look is created with my Makeup revolution Iconic 3 Palette, which I absolutely love - and is also a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. This is also the first tutorial I have done where I am not using false eyelashes. the reason for this, is because I don't usually wear them anymore since I have recently discovered my FAVOURITE Mascara - the Benefit Roller Lash!

Redemption Palette Iconic 3

This palette contains 12 shades in rose gold, gold and brown shades. I have seen so many blog posts comparing this to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, and I have to say that it is pretty much identical.

As you can see from the swatches, the matte shades are not as pigmented as the shimmer shades, but they are all super beautiful and buttery, and they blend like a dream.

Shades 1-6 with no Primer

Shades 7-12 with no Primer

I Heart Chocolate Palette

This palette contains 16 shades - 5 Matte and 11 Shimmer. I have seen many people comparing this to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, and I have to say that the similarity is uncanny. They literally look exactly the same!

From the swatches, you can see that, again, the matte shades aren't as pigmented as the shimmer shades, but they still are so beautiful. The blend amazingly, and the pigmentation is literally incredible.

The packaging is amazing, and you can tell that they have put so much thought into it. It makes it stand out so much more than any of the other palettes I have. It literally looks like a melting bar of chocolate, and has a light chocolate scent to it to...Yum!

This is probably my favourite palette from Makeup Revolution that I own. Love, Love, Love!

Top Row Swatches: (L-R) You Need Love; Piece Me Together; One More Piece;
Love Torn; Stolen Chocolate

Middle Row Swatches: (L-R) Thank Friday; More!; Pleasure Girl; Meet Chocolate;
Unforgivable; Love Divine

Bottom Row Swatches: (L-R) Smooth Criminal; Love Chocolate; You Need More;
What A Way To Go; Endorphins Ready

Highlighter Palette - Radiance

This is a palette containing Makeup Revolution 3 Best Selling Highlighters - Breathe, Exhale & Glow.

All of these highlighters are warm toned highlighters, so are great for summer and for all skin tones.

I have seen many videos and blog posts comparing this palette to the Hourglass Ambient Lighing Palette. I don't agree with this fully, as the Hourglass palette has a two shades which are more pink toned. But both palettes look very similar with their shimmer and texture.

Exhale is the shade which I believe is best suited for pale skin tones - as it is the least warm toned shade, and is very pale.

Breathe and Glow are perfect if you have tanned skin, a these will enhance your glow, without making you look orange.

I love that these shades are pigmented and shiny - not glittery. This is great, as you will not look like a disco ball if you over do the highlight, as it is pretty hard to build up too much product.

Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette Swatches!

12:20 0 Comments

Hi guys,
If you have seen my recent Haul (below), you will know that I purchased some items from makeup Revolution - plus other brands.

One of the products which I purchased is a Brand NEW eyeshadow palette from Makeup Revolution - Mermaids Forever. Now, if you have seen my videos, you will know that I am obsessed with Mermaids - The Little Mermaid is my favourite Disney movie, and Ariel is my favourite Disney Princess.

So I literally couldn't wait to get my hands on this gorgeous palette, and I have to tell you that I am not disappointed! The colours are gorgeous, and go well with the theme of Mermaid and the Sea. There are 32 shades in this palette, with all of them being Shimmer shades (although I do believe that I can see some shades which are almost matte).

The shades go in a gradient, with the lightest shades being on the left side of the palette, and the darkest on the right side.

My favourite shades from this palette have to be Sea, Ariel, Ocean and Waves. The colours are just so pigmented, incredibly shimmery, and just plain gorgeous.

The outside packaging is gorgeous, and shows off the 'Sea' theme very well. It makes me extremely excited, even before you see the palette! The casing, is just like any normal eyeshadow palette from Makeup Revolution, but slightly larger than the standard Iconic Pro palette.

To show you how great these shadows are, and how highly pigmented they are, I have done swatches of every shade. As you can see, the 'matte' shades are not as pigmented as the rest, but all photos are done without a primer.

I'm very excited to start playing around with these shadows and to create some amazing looks for you!

Makeup Revolution: Ultra Blush & Contour Palette Swatches

05:25 0 Comments

Hi Guys,
As promised in my Makeup revolution haul (above), here are the swatches to the Makeup Revolution Blush & Contour Palette which I purchased - in the shade Sugar and Spice. I purchased this from Superdrug for only £6.

On the cardboard packaging, you can see all of the colours that are contained in this palette. This makes it very easy for when you are buying from a store, and want to see which colours you will be getting.

The packaging is super sleek, with a black hard case. This doesn't look or feel flimsy at all. I have dropped mine a couple of times on my floor, and had no troubles at all.

When you open up the case, it comes with 8 shades and a very large mirror. This is super easy if you are on the go or travelling, and want to take away just this palette of blushes.
The palette contains 2 highlighters (top and bottom right), 2 contour shades (top right two), and 4 blushers.

Top shades swatches.

Bottom shades swatches.

As you can see from the swatches, the contour shades, are not very good for being for contour - they're just too pink to be used as contour, but are perfect for blush if you have tanned skin.

I have tried almost all of these shades on, and I am very in love with them. You only need a tiny amount on your brush, and a little goes a very long way - they are super pigmented.

For only £6, this palettes absolutely incredible! I just wish that they didn't sell it as a contour and blush palette on their website, because the contour shades are more like blush shades. Other than that, I am super happy and these are beautiful!

Chloe :) xoxo
