Chanel No 1 De Chanel Revitalising Foundation REVIEW

04:09 0 Comments

Hi guys,

Chanel have recently released their new skincare, makeup and fragrance line - No 1 De Chanel.

This line is sustainable with their packaging and there being no leaflets - they have QR Codes on the boxes which has all information about the product you’ve purchased. They also contain the Red Camellia Flower with 5 anti-ageing benefits and 94% naturally derived ingredients. This is Chanel’s most natural product they’ve created - and it took them 10 years to create!

The foundation comes in 20 shades - which is less than a lot of their other foundations. Luckily, I was able to get my usual shade BD31.

I did a first impression video on my YouTube channel above, where you can see me apply with both a brush and a sponge, I show you how it builds up and a 10 hour wear test! Subscribe to my YouTube channel here!

Now onto the review.

The bottle contains the standard 30ml / 1 fl oz, and the packaging is frosted glass with a plastic lid with the Chanel logo.

The packaging felt very lightweight compared to others like the Les Beiges foundation where the glass packaging is pretty heavy.

I was excited to test this out as it says that it’s suitable for sensitive skin - I have very sensitive acne prone skin so I always have to be careful about which products I use on my face. I was also a little dubious as it says that it’s suitable for all skin types - I have very oily skin so usually a product which can work for dry skin will not also work for me and my oils.

I bought my usual shade - BD31 and the shade is exactly the same as my others in this shade.

There’s not much of a scent to the foundation which I like, and it goes on very light.

My skin with no foundation. You can see a lot of blemishes and redness.

With one layer I get a sheer-light coverage, and I can build it up to light-medium. If you’re after a full coverage foundation, this is not for you.

This won’t cover acne or blemishes, and it won’t fully cover redness but evens the redness out a little. If you want to cover those blemishes, you’ll need use a concealer as well.

I use 2 layers of the foundation with a sponge, and it’s not the best at building up - you have to be very quick before it dries.

2 layers of the foundation.

But I do like the finish I get with this. It’s a little luminous, but also a little matte so looks quite natural - if you’re after a natural look then the Les Beiges foundation would be the one to go for.

It lasts pretty well with my oily skin for 8 hours, and I don’t really need to blot, however it does come off a little on my forehead and on the side of my face so it’s not super long lasting. So, if I want it to look nice around this time then I just build up a little bit on these areas.

The rest of my makeup glides on very easily and I actually prefer the way it looks with the extra products added as you can’t see the blotches.

This did cling to my dry patches, so probably wouldn’t suit very dry skin.

I did have a little bit of itchiness under my nostril and on the side on my face when using this, but it’s only happened twice out of the past month I’ve been wearing it.

Overall, I like this foundation but I’m not in love with it. I prefer my Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet and Les Beiges foundations more than this.

It’s probably because I’m quite picky with my foundations as they have to not break me out, control my oils and look quite natural on the skin.

I wouldn’t repurchase it but if you’re on the fence, I’d say try it out!

I’d give this 3/5 stars. It’s not the best foundation, but it’s not the worst I’ve tried. Out of the ones I’ve tested from Chanel, this is the lowest ranking. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

HUGE Fashion & Beauty Haul!

08:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

I don't really film many hauls on my channel, as I haven't really been making a lot of purchases recently. I've been trying to cut down on the amount of makeup I've been buying - my Alex 9 Drawers are completely full of makeup, and you would have guessed that's the reason if you had seen my Makeup Collection Videos! (Part 1, Part 2)

A couple of weeks ago, I ventured out shopping with my friend Rhi, and she's such a bad influence on me when we go shopping, because I end up buying so many things. I literally came back with bags in bags, full up to the top...it wasn't good for my bank balance!

I accumulated quite a few things from this shopping trip, and the week before, so thought I'd incorporate everything into a video. I know that some of you guys like watching my hauls, and there might be some new products in here that you'd like to get another opinion on. I will be doing a First Impression video on a products I purchased in this video, and I can't wait!

To see everything I have in this haul, just click on the video above. There are some great things from Hollister (obviously, and I'm obsessed with Hollister), the Disney Store, Victoria's Secret, and much more.

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

The BEST DRUGSTORE Foundations For OILY SKIN!

08:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

So, it's taken me a very long time to test out foundations which work out for my awkward, problematic skin. I've been testing out products for the past 4 years, trying to find a foundation which doesn't irritate, and does exactly what it says, and have tested out almost 100 FOUNDATIONS!!!

If you don't know what my skin type is like, here you go...
It's very oily (forehead, sides of my nose and sides of cheeks), i can get dry patches on my cheeks in the winter, I have very sensitive skin, a lot of redness and blemishes & acne.
So, basically, I have a lot of problems with my skin, and there's a lot a foundation needs to do to actually work for me.

I feel like that I've finally managed to narrow it down to my Top 5 Best Foundations for Oily Skin. Also, I haven't had a problem with these breaking me out either.

There's one foundation on this list where I have heard of there people breaking out from it, but even with my sensitive skin, I haven't had any reaction.

These foundations work amazingly with my oily skin, and help to control my oils for at least 5 hours. Also, one of these foundations keeps me oil-free ALL DAY, I never get oily from it.

To see my Top 5 Drugstore Foundation for my skin, check out the video above.

I go into detail about why I like these foundations, how long they last for, their price and more.

Two of these foundations aren't available in the UK at the moment, but you can have them shipped over from Amazon or Ebay.

If there are any foundations you love for your skin, let me know in the comments section, as I love seeing new recommendations!

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

Review: Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation on Oily Skin!

14:32 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

Recently, I tested out the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation which I have had in my collection since last summer. I've been waiting for a very long time to test out this product, and wanted to keep hold of it until I could do a first impression video.

I purchased this for £37 from Harrods, and was colour matched to the shade 27 - Bisque Neutral. This was the perfect match for me whilst I was self tanned, and was a little worried that it wouldn't match me now, as I purchased this almost a year ago. I didn't have to worry, and even though the colour was a little light in the beginning, it oxidised during the day and became a better match.

You get 22ml of product in the bottle, and the packing is beautiful and sleek. To take out the foundation, you twist the handle, and there is a 'stick like tool with a dot' inside (it's very hard to explain), which helps to apply a couple of drops of the product.

If you don't know what my skin type is, I have oily combinations skin - very oily t-zone, blemishes, redness, sensitive, acne-prone and large pores.

I applied this foundation using my Sigma F80, as it says on the website that the best way to apply this, was by using a brush. I found that using a brush, it looked a little streaky (the problem that I have with using a brush with all of my foundations), so decided to go in and bounce my beauty blender on top to even out the coverage, and it looked perfect!

I think I applied a little too much of the foundation the first time, as it tended to look pretty bad on my skin after 9 hours. I tested it out the next day, and it lasted really well on my skin - better than the day before! This is why I feel that I applied too much in my first impression, as I applied a lot less.

The shade that I tested is 27 Bisque Neutral, which they say is a fair skin tone on the website. This is way darker than fair, and I feel as thought it's more light-medium as I used this when I was self tanned!

BEFORE & AFTER

Pros:

Makes the skin look flawless from up close and far away.
Amazing shade range - there are 22 with different undertones.
A little amount goes a very long way.
Will last a VERY long time as you only need a little amount.
Covers all imperfections - redness, blemishes, acne.
Lasts well over 9 hours on my very oily t-zone (I only needed to powder once during the day).
Easily buildable.
The rest of my Makeup glided on smoothly over the top.
Controls my oils for at least 7 hours.
The packaging is sleek, and the little dropper is a great way to apply the product.

Cons:

Expensive price.
Sinks into pores.
Oxidises during the day.

To see my thoughts on this foundation, check out the video above.

Enjoy,

Chloe xoxo

Review: Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation on Oily Skin!

01:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,
Recently, I tested out the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation on my channel for a First Impression. This foundation has beed RAVED about all over youtube - I don't think I've even seen one negative review.

The things that made me really want to test it out are the super affordable price point (it retails for $5-$6), and I fell in love with it when I watched a review from Casey Holmes on her channel about this foundation. Casey has SUPER oily skin, and I have very oily-combination skin. I though. "If it works for her, it'll work for me'.

As I was in Florida on my holiday, I decided to have a look around Walmart to find my shade. And I have to tell you, this was super tricky - they literally sold out of every shade every time I'd go to Walmart! So, I managed to pick up two shades, which aren't exactly toy my perfect shade, but I thought that I could just mix them together if they're not the perfect shade.
The shades I picked up were Soft Ivory (Light Warm) and Buff Bisque (Light-Medium Neutral). Because I self tan, I knew that I would need the Light-Medium Warm, however I literally couldn't find this ANYWHERE!

If you don't already know, my skin type is Oily-Combination Skin, very oily t-zone with redness and blemishes, acne prone.

The foundation didn't have any claims when it came to coverage, lasting power, texture or which skin type it was for, so I basically went into this First Impression blind, with no knowledge of how it would perform. The packaging only stated that it doesn't have any flashback or white cast in photo, so is perfect for photoshoots and selfie lighting.

They feel and look exactly the same on the skin, and the only difference really being that the Estee Lauder is waterproof and doesn't budge for over 14 hours, and the Wet n Wild starts to come off after 9 hours of wear.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus is an incredible foundation for only $5! (I purchased it for $4.97 from Walmart.) Check out my First Impression video on this foundation above.

I tested out this theory by using my iPhone with the flash on and off. And I think it looks great not ways! There's not really much of a difference, however the flash makes everything look perfect and glowy.

WITH FLASH VS WITHOUT FLASH

So, I tried out this foundation in my first impression, and I was BLOWN AWAY! I feel as though this foundation is a drugstore dupe for the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I have this foundation, have been using it for years, and it's my holy grail.

BEFORE & AFTER

PROS:
Very affordable - retails for $5-$6.
Long lasting - still looked flawless after 9 hours of wear.
Great for oily skin.
Didn't break me out.
Didn't irritate my sensitive skin.
Looks HD, and evens out skin texture and pores.
Amazing selection of colour - Fair-Deep Dark colours in Cool, Neutral and Warm undertones.
Easily buildable.
Great coverage - medium and can be built up to almost full.
No flashback or white cast in photos.
No strong scent.
Spatula Applicator.
Packaging is glass, and feels very luxurious.

Very hard to find if you don't live in the US or Canada - Wet n Wild doesn't ship internationally.

Sells out very quickly, so very hard to find your shade in stock.
Sinks into pores after 6 hours if not used with a pore-filling primer.

Enjoy,

Chloe xoxo

Long-Lasting Makeup! Copper/Red Eyes + Pink Lips!

08:30 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

Since I've been bcd to filming videos, I asked you all which videos you would like to see up, and a couple of my subscribers said that they wanted to see a Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial.

I didn't want to create just any makeup tutorial - I wanted to make sure that is was long lasting for the whole night, so it lasts throughout anything which you may be doing for the day. Plus, I wanted to make sure it stays looking perfect, and looks great in photos!

If you don't already know, I have oily combination skin, with my T-zone being super oily! All of these products were tried and tested, and some are even holy grail products of mine. I promise that even f you are super oily, this makeup WILL NOT BUDGE!!!

I created a makeup look for when me and Neil had our Valentine's Day on the Saturday before, and I had so many compliments for you all on my Instagram, so thought that I'd keep everything the same, and just change the lip combination to look more pink. (Photo from my makeup on the day below).

This look has a hint of red on the eyes, and pink for the lips, the colours which I associate with Valentine's Day. Which you will be able to tell from my previous Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorials (below).

The lip combination is one which I have been wearing constantly, and is my go-to when I don't know what to do with my lipstick. The lipstick is my favourite by MAC - Angel, and I used the Jouer Lip Topper in Skinny Dip - which is perfection!

So, if you want to find some long lasting makeup which won't budge, or just want to create beautiful makeup look for date nights, just watch the video above. All products are a mix of drugstore and high end, so you don't have to break the bank to have this look.

Also, I have below my previous Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorials if you'd like to try some others out!

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

Running Late 15 Minute Makeup!

09:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,
I was thinking of some new ideas for some videos, and thought 'why not do a running late makeup tutorial?'

The closest to this makeup which I have uploaded is my Back To School Makeup Tutorials which are great for a natural look for school, but I wanted to create something which was quicker, but still natural.

EX1 Cosmetics reached out to me, and wanted to try out their NEW Shades of their Invisiwear Liquid Foundation - which I had featured in my tanned colour in another makeup tutorial. If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I am OBSESSED with the EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation, because it just stays fresh and glowy - without making me oily or shiny - and just looks super natural on the skin. It basically makes it look like your own skin but better!

I've been using the same products and the same routine for work for the past couple of months, and thought this was the best time for me to film a tutorial, and to show you how I achieve a flawless, natural look, in under 15 minutes!

This make up stays put all day, and doesn't make me oily or shiny - I have super oily skin, and tend to go oily after 4 hours! This makeup accentuates blue eyes, so is perfect for all of you blue-eyed beauties!

I hope you have fun recreating this tutorial, and I'll be back very soon with some more!

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

BEST + WORST Foundations for OILY SKIN!

04:00 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

If you're new to my channel, or my blog, you probably won't know that I have the strangest skin imaginable. When I buy foundations, primers or skin care, I have to take into account the many problems with my skin.

I have oily combination skin, with a super oily t-zone, sensitive skin, acne-prone skin, acne scars, redness on my cheeks and chin, and the occasional blemish. Phew! That is a lot of things that my skin has!

And, because my oiliness is so bad on my t-zone - My face looks like its sweating after a couple of hours - I need to have skin care and foundations which can hold up with my oils.

Now, I've tried so many different types of foundation - I used to have dry skin, so I know a lot about the best and worst foundations for dry skin too - some have worked wonder, some have worked ok, and some have just been plain crap. Cue, my idea for a new video - The Best + Worst Foundations For Oily Skin.

All of these products which I have spoken about in this video are all either '100% Oil Free', 'Matte', or are 'Specifically For Oily Skin'. So, these foundations all promise to keep you matte either all day, or for a certain amount of hours. I put all of these to the test, and this is what I found out - in the video below.

Of course, I HAD to include my holy grail foundation - my Estee Lauder Double Wear - which I actually have in 3 different shades, for different stages of self tan. I am literally obsessed with this foundation, and it keeps me matte ALL DAY! Some foundations were great, and some not so great.

Check out the video to see my opinions on different foundation which worked, and didn't work for me.

Enjoy,
Chloe xoxo

My Skin Secrets: Primer for Oily Skin

14:02 0 Comments
Hey guys,

Another week, and another Skincare Secret from me! This week, i am going to be telling you all about my favourite primer for my oily skin.

As you will know, if you watch my youtube videos, I have the strangest skin in the world! I have so many problems - acne, redness, acne-prone, sensitive, dry-combination skin and a super oily forehead!

I have tried so many different products to try to get my oily skin to act like normal skin, and not make my foundations slip off of my forehead. I've tried drugstore and high-end, but have finally managed to find the perfect primer for my oily skin!

The product is the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer and is available from all drugstores for the affordable price of £5.99!

This primer has a non-sticky and slightly moisturising feel, and can be worn underneath makeup or on its own.

I have noticed that ever since i have started using this primer, my make-up stays on pretty much all day, and I only need to powder once a day - roughly 8 hours after I have applied the foundation. Before I used this primer, my makeup would stay in place for roughly an hour or two, and then i would need to powder, and then powder again a couple of hours after.

I was a little hesitant at first to use this primer, because i have very acne-prone, sensitive skin, and pretty much everything breaks me out. I found that with this, i had no irritation, and I had no extra blemishes at all.

I can't believe I have found a primer which is super affordable, and keeps my oils at bay all day!

I definitley recommend this to anyone who suffers from any type of oily skin - whether it super oily, or just a little bit oily. This is literally THE BEST primer for oily skin!

Also, I have a giveaway on my channel where you can win this primer. All you have to do is be subscribed to my channel, and comment on the video telling me which your favourite primer and foundation are, plus your skin type. Giveaway closes 30th April 2015, and is open worldwide. (the video below has all of the information and tells you more of what I think about this primer)

New Products I'm Testing Out For My Acne!

03:03 0 Comments

Hey guys,
As you will know, if you watch my videos, I have been suffering from acne since I was 16. I managed to get it near enough cleared up a few years ago, and then started using Proactiv to keep it at bay.
Now, because I have sensitive skin, the proactive was not the best product for me to use. It started to work for the first year, and because I couldn't use it twice a day which it suggested (because of my sensitive skin) it started to come back, and my face was getting very irritated. And the last few months of me using the product, my acne started to come back a lot worse.
I've been fed up of using many different products to try to get rid of my Acne, and so many of them have worked, and then they stopped working. So this time, I decided to use a product from the brand Clinique. I went to my local Boots Store, and spoke to the lady about my acne. She said the Anti-Blemish 3 Step Solutions was a great product to use and this was great for sensitive skin, it wouldn't irritate me, and the moisturiser won't dry my skin out.
So, I decided to go and purchase this in my hopes it would make my skin nice and clear.
I've been documenting every week of me using this system. I've so far edited  2 updates and a video on how my skin looked before using it. Check them out above, and let me know if you think it's working! I'm doing a new update every week on how my skin looks, and f it's made any difference.

Check out some more of my videos and subscribe to my channel here :)
