Autumn/Winter Hollister Haul!

09:00 0 Comments

 Hi guys,

As you know, I have a bit of an obsession with Hollister because their clothes are AMAZING quality and last forever!

It actually took me until about 5-6 years ago before I stepped foot in a Hollister store because they were so dark and like beach huts, but after my friend Rhi made me go in with her, I was hooked!

I tend to do a Hollister haul around every season because I can always find some great pieces, and as they tend to re-release some of the same clothes each year, the pieces last such a long time and are always on style!

Everything I picked up in this haul was on offer or in the sale, and I got them for great prices!

As with all of my hauls, I also try on each piece so you can see what they look like. I also let you know the prices I paid, as well as the size I picked each piece up in.

Enjoy,

Chloe xoxo

The BEST Lip Oils I’ve Tried!

04:17 0 Comments

Hi guys,

Today I wanted to share with you the best lip oils I’ve found - and I’ve tried A LOT!

These lip oils are by KAB Cosmetics, and I’ve been using them for the last year, so I really know how they are and their benefits.

Something I really like about KAB Cosmetics is that all products are cruelty free and they’re Leaping Bunny Approved, so you don’t need to worry about them testing in animals.

They retail for $20 which is a little up there in price, but they’re roughly the same price as the higher end lip oils I’ve seen. But you can save 20% on everything on Kabcosmetics.com by using code ‘ChloeL’.

There’s 6ml in each tube, which is around the same as most lip oils on the market. But, because the formula is quite thick, you don’t need to use much of it.

They come in 6 different shades, with 5 of them making your teeth appear whiter with the violet/blue pigments. They have a slight tint to them which isn’t noticeable that much when wearing them but give a slight colour. The only shade which doesn’t have a tint is Sugar Rush, as it’s a clear lip oil.

The other shades available are Rum Punch (red tint), Honey Dew (orange tint), Grapesicle and Juicy Melon (purple tint), and Blue Raspberry (blue tint).

The only shades I haven’t tried are Sugar Rush and Grapesicle.

All have the same coconut scent which is beautiful! I am sometimes sensitive to scents, but I have no issue with this at all. The only thing I have to say is that I wish they smelt like their names - for instance Honey Dew having a honey or honeydew melon scent. However, I actually love the scent of coconut they’ve added. It smells just like summer and it’s so nice to put it on and still smell it for a couple of seconds.

They have Shea Oil in the ingredients - which is great for hydrating dry skin.

I tend to suffer with dry lips quite often - I need to drink more water - and when I wear these they instantly feel hydrated.

These have a pretty thick consistency, but they don’t feel sticky at all, and the doe foot applicator is large so you can easily and quickly apply to your lips. The packaging is large and sleek, and I never have any issues with leaking. I like that the packing is white with the silver logo, as it seems more clean and it’s much more vibrant on the shade you’re using.

My go-to look has been to use a pink/nude/brown Lipliner to line my lips and going in with a couple of dabs of the lip oil. It’s easy and quick to do, looks beautiful, and hydrates your lips whilst looking shiny and glossy.

I’m currently using Rum Punch and Blue Raspberry as I find these tints pair great with any lip liners I use. If I want to slightly warm up the shade, I use Rum Punch, and if I want a cooler tone I use Blue Raspberry.

(Top - Rum Punch; Bottom - Blue Raspberry)

I keep one tube on my side table which I use before I go to bed, one in my bag, and one by my desk when I work! So, I guess you can say that I have one with me at all times.

Swatches: (Top - Blue Raspberry; Bottom - Rum Punch)

This review is not sponsored at all - I’ve bought all products by myself - and because I love this product, I wanted to share my experience and a coupon code where you can save some money!

Enjoy,

Chloe xoxo

My Hair Extension Journey! The BEST Hair Extensions for Redheads and Ginger Hair!

09:01 0 Comments

 Hi guys,

As you will be aware if you’ve been following me for a while, my natural hair colour is ginger. Yes, I’m a natural redhead/ginger spice.

I’d been dying or bleaching my hair for years until I decided 5 years ago to go back to my natural hair colour.

One reason was because my hair was so damaged from the bleach that it would hardly ever grow, plus my hair was getting thinner from the fact that I would need to dye my roots every 3-4 weeks. (There’s only so much mascara and dry shampoo you can put in your roots to stop them from showing 😂)

Another reason, was that I was using extensions to cover up how short and dry my natural hair was, and at the time there were pretty much NO extensions for people with ginger hair!

The first time I’d witnessed ginger extensions was when I went to Florida as a 16 year old, went into Sally’s and they actually had an auburn highlight mix set of clip ins. Absolutely crazy as these were like gold dust - you find it and you buy it!

I loved these extensions to death and always used them. They made me feel pretty and like I had long hair again! I have no clue if they still make them, and I can’t remember if they were even that good quality, but they were the only pair on the market. I bought 3 packs as they were 1 individual weft per pack, and I think then they were £15 per pack (in 2009!), and they were so thin! Ideally I needed another pack but I LOVED THEM! The mix of these extensions was an auburn weft, attached to a blonde weft behind it. So if you wanted more blonde one day, you’d flip the extensions over, and do the same if you wanted more auburn. They were amazing for when I finally highlighted my hair!

16 years old in Virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney with my first set of ginger clip ins!

Now, fast forward to 6 years ago when I went back to my natural hair colour, and the searching commenced for some new extensions in my new hair colour.

I’d had dark brown hair for around 3 years and knew that every time I’d buy extensions, they’d be the shade 1b. With this new colour, I had literally no idea which shade I’d be.

Every place where they had red hair extensions, they either had #30, #33 and #99J. Now, if you know shades you will know that 99J is basically the shade of Cheryl Cole’s hair when she dyed it bright red - it’s a cherry wine colour. So this was definitely a no go. So I knew that it would be a toss up between 30 or 33.

Luckily, I purchased a colour ring from the place I’d been buying my extensions from, so could match my hair almost perfectly to the 30 - 33 was just too dark.

So, then I realised that 30 is the best bet in pretty much all extensions.

Best I-Tip Extensions

I originally went on the hunt for some new I tip extensions, because I didn’t like how every extension I’d seen was 1g (that’s just too heavy for my hair) and I didn’t want to cut them as it would just take too long.

I came across a video by Jillian (audaciously on YouTube) and she’d mentioned she buys her extensions from yourhairshop.com, and they last her ages. Her hair looked so natural and the extensions were more than I wanted to pay but I thought ‘why not try them out because you can save money in the long run’. I’m so glad I did because I could get 9 MONTHS OUT OF THESE! Yes, 9 months. With my previous extensions, I was changing them every 3 months and they were over £100!

The colour matches me almost perfectly (it’s a tiny bit lighter) but the tones are perfect. I always used to get compliments from people whenever I’d out in these extensions. As they were smaller extensions, they were thinner than some so looked much more natural.

2017, and I found the perfect I-Tips for my natural hair! Here I am at Universal Studios Orlando.

Whenever I want I-tips, I always use these. Just be warned that they are pretty expensive, and the price has gone up much more than when I last purchased them.

Another great thing is that they also do mix and rooted colours, so there are plenty of different ones to choose from. I have a few packs of #M27/30 for when I want to add some subtle highlights to my hair.

These extensions don’t go frizzy when your hair is washed and feel silky and soft for a long time - like I said, I can get 9 months of wear out of them!

I have a full video on these extensions, so you can see how I install them, and all the details about them.

They’ve now renamed the extensions, but here are the extensions: here

Best Clip-In Extensions

So, I’ve mentioned about my first ginger clip ins at 16 years old, but what I didn’t tell you what that my first actual set of clip ins was when I was about 14 when I had black hair, and they were SO BAD!

My aunt bought them for me from a Market stall for £10, and they were synthetic - but the rediculously bad kind! After 2 wears, they were a BUSH. And that’s literally how everyone’s looked at that time. Human hair ones were SO EXPENSIVE! And they’ve definitely come a long way since then!

Ive tried so many different types of extensions, but I love using clip ins when I’m giving my hair a break. I used to wear permanent extensions all year and would only have a couple of weeks’ break in between, but recently I’ve only been using them 2-3 times a year at the most.

Clip ins are amazing for me to create some easy styles, and the ones I have, have a lot of weight to them.

As someone with thin-normal hair, only 100-150g is enough for my hair to handle otherwise the weight is too heavy if I’m wearing permanent extensions. With clip ins, I can go up to about 200g. It feels so much better on my head as they’re only being worn for a few hours at a time.

The clip ins which have THE PERFECT colour match and the most amazing quality (especially for the price) are from Foxy Locks.

Never have I ever been able to find a perfect colour match for my natural hair! Usually it’s extremely close but they could be a little too red or not golden enough- but these are amazing!

I picked up my set around 3-4 years ago and they’re still going strong. I’ve only washed them a handful of times in that time frame as I don’t use them every day - maybe twice a month.

The shade I have is Cinnamon Ginger, and even by looking at the swatch on the website you can see that it’s a very natural looking Ginger.

The colour match is PERFECT wearing Foxy Locks Cinnamon Ginger.

Site-seeing in London - a little OOTD in Regents Park

These extensions are the ones I get the most compliments on when I wear them, as people don’t believe they’re actually extensions. They’re thick, full, not too heavy, soft, and they react very well to heat. The bottoms are very full as well, but not too full where they look fake.

I have the Superior 22 inch Silk Seamless Clip Ins, and they have 230g in them. I don’t even use the entire set and my hair looks super full (I have one two clip weft left over).  As they’re seamless, they have a plastic band at the top, so all wefts lie flat. Before trying these, I didn’t realise how bulky the wefts on some extensions were. The quality of these has always been outstanding, and I believe they cost around £200, which is pretty expensive but these do last years! They have varying lengths and colours, as well as balayage colours available.

Overall, these are the best clip ins I’ve tried, and the most amount of hair for the price.

Best Tape In Extensions

With tape ins, I have a love-hate relationship with them, but I always seem to find myself going back to them. The reason? They’re the quickest permanent extension to put in and you can easily get slices of colour with just a few added to your hair.

I first tried tape ins years ago when I had bleached blonde hair (at least 10 years ago), and I did DIY with some clip ins I’d had at the time. Needless to say, I hated them and they just fell out after the first wash!

Since then, I’ve found some amazing extension tape tabs which actually keep the extensions in (I rarely lose and extension since using this tape), and have changed to using actual tape extensions instead of putting tape on a weave and applying them like clip ins.

One thing I didn’t like about tape ins, was that I could never get them to lie completely flat when putting my hair in a ponytail or bun. And I couldn’t get them undetectable as my hair is fine at the front, and if I didn’t put the tapes close enough to my face, then it looks odd when down, but too close and they look odd when they’re up!

There are things I like and don’t like about them, but I’m slowly getting to grips with them and coming around to the idea of them.

I originally found this brand of extensions when I applied extensions on my friend and she’d purchased them from this store. She’d mentioned she’d had them for around a year and they were such great quality. So I thought I’d have a look on their website to see what they had.

To my surprise, ClipHair had 6 different shades of red! Which is completely unheard of for any hair extensions brand. They had (and still have) #27 Strawberry Blonde, #30 Light Auburn, #33 Dark Auburn, #350 Ginger Red (I find these much too bright and orange to be called a natural red), #530 Plum/Cherry Red, and the usual #99J Mahogany Red.

Even though I knew that only #30 is likely to match me, it was great to see that there were many different options.

I originally tried #30 and the initial colour was good, however after the first wash, the colour began to fade quite quickly. After the 2nd wash, my extensions looked like a faded bright red which didn’t match my hair at all and I had to dye them. This was unfortunate as my previous extensions (foxy locks and yourhairshop) have never had this issue when washing.

I gave myself a break from the ClipHair extensions because of this - I didn’t really want to be buying new extensions to then have to dye them after a couple of washes which made them feel quite dry, and having spent £100 it was quite a long. I also found that the tabs were quite large as well, so weren’t as undetectable as I’d thought.

Fast forward a couple of years and they bring out their Balayage range, and they had a ginger balayage! I have NEVER seen balayage extensions for redheads before and I was so excited to try them. I love blonde highlights, but after not dying my hair for 4 years, I didn’t really want to risk frying my hair. So instead, I thought these would be the next best thing.

Cliphair actually gifted me a set of their Clip In Hair extensions to try in their new balayage shade (Cinnamon Swirl) and I was blown away with the colour match and how beautiful they looked. I didn’t get the same issue as the previous extensions where the colour ran and faded. These literally looked perfect after each wash.

I’m very thankful to them for gifting me these as they weren’t cheap at all!

As I loved the clip ins, I decided to try my luck with their tape ins in this shade. And I’m so glad I did because not only were the tabs shrunk, but the quality of the hair felt much nicer and after the first wash, they didn’t frizz and the colour didn’t run!

Wearing 1.5 packs of the tape in extensions in Cinnamon Swirl. They give a natural highlight and lighten up the hair without needing to commit to bleach.

I’ve used these several times now, and I usually go for 20 inch (but tried out 22 inch last time), and I purchase 2 packs. Each pack contains 100g, and I usually use around 120-140g in my hair at once. These are pretty much the only packs of tape ins which are more than 50g in each packet (so works out cheaper than others).

2 packs of the balayage tape ins will set you back around £200-£250, and the tapes are around £15 for a pack of 120 tabs.

Another thing I love about these extensions is they look so natural in my hair. It looks like I have my own balayage, but I didn’t have to dye my hair for it. They blend in so nicely with my natural hair, and again I receive so many compliments when I wear them.

The balayage style is perfect for spring and summer, or if you just want to add some lighter shades to your hair without needing to dye your hair.

These are the best tape ins I’ve tried - especially for the price - and I highly recommend the balayage style. The standard red shades I don’t recommend just because of the issue o had with fading. But if you don’t have red hair, then the fading could be different.

So, that’s my hair extension journey and the best extensions of each kind I’ve found for ginger hair. I’ve been on such a long journey with these and I still haven’t finished 😂

Let me know if you’ve tried any ginger extensions before, or the best quality extensions you’ve tried out. I’m super interested on everyone’s thoughts!

Chloe xoxo

OOTD #18 - Sightseeing to Date Night

02:56 0 Comments

Hi Guys,

I’m back with another Outfit of the Day.

This one is a strange photo because I only managed to get one with Neil photobombing me!

This outfit I wore during the day for sightseeing in London, and just changed the top for the evening. When we stay overnight, we don’t like to pack a lot because it can get too heavy when we’re carrying it on the tube to get to Euston Station.

These shoes are absolutely INCREDIBLE! I feel like I’m walking on clouds and they’re super comfortable. I bought 4 pairs of them last summer and they’re my go-to shoe when it’s hot. They’re waterproof, easy clean if they get dirty and just the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. They’re perfect for walking far or shopping! They also have memory foam so it’s super comfortable on your feet.

The only expensive part of my outfit is my Louis Vuitton Bag (however I did buy it a few years ago when it was a third of the price it is brand new now!)

My jeans were in the sale from Hollister for £16, and they have been my go-to pair of jeans during summer. They go with SO MANY outfits. Because I’m so tall and I have a pretty thin figure with not much of a bum, the only jeans which tend to fit me perfectly are Hollister and Tommy Hilfiger.

Jeans: Hollister (here)
Shoes: Sketchers (here - different colour)
Bag: Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires (NEW - here; PRELOVED - here

 Hi guys,

Recently I’ve been uploading shorts to my YouTube channel, as I’ve been having issues with my laptop which still aren’t resolved but I’m still able to edit some long form videos!

In between my usual 2 videos a week, I’ve been uploading more shorts in case you prefer seeing reviews under 1 minute long.

I have a playlist called ‘shorts’ if you’d prefer to check those out.

Let me know if you prefer watching short form or long form videos?

Is the NEW Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara Worth It?!

03:21 0 Comments

Hi guys,

I recently tested out the Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara on my channel as I’ve been intrigued by the great TikTok reviews I’ve seen. Mascara and foundation tend to be my favourite makeup products to test so I was so excited to see if it actually works.

The mascara retails for £23/$24 so is quite high up there with the price, however you can purchase a travel size for £14 if you’re not sure if you’d like it. I purchased this for £10 from their website when they had a sale going on (they usually have a couple a year), so I’d say to wait until they have a sale if you’re not sure if you’d like it but you want to buy a full size just in case.

In all honesty, I don’t really know what the difference between a tubing mascara and a normal mascara is, so I went into this review just assuming they were the same, but I applied specifically how it says on the website.

Claims

- 24 hour flake-free, smudge proof and Sweatproof.

- Lengthens, volumizes and curls the lashes

- 360 degree lash comb separates and lifts for fanned-out definition

- Conditioning shea butter, castor oil and lifting plant waxes (helping lashes grow)

- Easy removal

- 2 coats gives the appearance of lash extensions

As with all tarte products, the mascara is cruelty free and is also vegan.

With all of these claims, it seemed as though the mascara is the perfect one.

Check out my video above, to see if it lived up to the claims or if you should just save your money!

Enjoy,

Chloe xoxo

KAB Cosmetics Mystery Box - Is It Worth $250?!

04:50 0 Comments

Hi guys,

It’s been a while since I’ve done a blog post!

I wanted to post about the KAB Cosmetics Mystery Box, as I was pretty intrigued about what it contains as it’s $150 but everything retails for $254! I couldn’t find any reviews or any posts about what the box contains, and the experiences of others, so I thought I’d pick it up and it may help some of you thinking the same.

I’ve had both good and bad products from KAB Cosmetics, and I’ve tried out the majority of their products they stock on the website - I always go for the bundles they add on their site where you have a few different products to try which is why I’ve tried so many!

The products are quite up there in price, so I recommend you always use a coupon code as then you can get more for your money and it’s not as bad if something doesn’t work out well.

There were two products I was hoping to get in this mystery his - lip oils and the contour palette because they’re some of my favourite products from this brand.

I’ll let you know what I received, and in my video I let you know if I think it was worth the money I purchased it for - here’s a heads up, I used a 30% off coupon code so didn’t pay the full price 😉

If you’ve never tried anything from KAB Cosmetics, or if you don’t know about them, they’re a cosmetics company created by Kim Zolciak Biermann, and her daughters Brielle and Ariana. You can purchase some products from Walmart, although apparently they’re slightly different to what’s on the website as the prices are a little cheaper.

Anyway, let’s get on with the details about the box!

If you want to purchase anything from KAB Cosmetics, I have a coupon below the review for 20% off your entire order!

About the Mystery Box

The box has a retail value of $254, and you can purchase for $150 from their website, so you save $100 on the purchase. They mentioned on their Instagram that every box contains their Bombshell Beauty Oil, and the Undress Me lip kit. Already there, you have a $79 value. The box also contains at least 9 full sized products. I don’t know if every box contains the same products, or if everyone receives just those two items the same.

When I’d received the box, it was just a normal cardboard packing box with the items in there. There was no KAB box like it shows on the website, so that was a bit of a disappointment. But hey ho, all the products were full to the top and had good packaging coming all the way from the US to the UK.

Shipping was incredibly quick! I’d received in a few days after I’d purchased it, which is crazy considering it’s coming thousands of miles, and was quicker than some UK post I’ve waited for!

The items

The first two items I received were the Bombshell Beauty Oil, and the Undress Me lip kit.

Both products I feel I’ll be using (I was excited about the beauty oil and I’d researched the ingredients and they look good for oily acne prone skin which I have!). The lipkit looks like a nice shade that I’d wear, so no shockers there!

Next, I’d received the Hydrating Setting Mist. This I wasn’t too sure about because I have very oily skin, and usually I stay away from anything which says ‘hydrating’. When I looked at the ingredients, it contains Witch Hazel which is great for acne. The sprayer was great as well and gave a nice mist - not a drenched look at all!
This one was a pleasant surprise for me as it may actually work well for my skin type. There’s also a slight hint of coconut scent, so if you’re sensitive to those types of smells then it may not be the best for you.

I’d also received a face palette which I already own. I do genuinely enjoy the palette and have used it quite a lot (the screenshot is of my opened palette so you can see the shades as I didn’t want to open a new one). I like 2 of the 3 shades, and it’s a beautiful gel to powder formula. Again, a product I use and like so not a disappointment for me.

Now, this is where it goes a bit different. Out of the 10 products I received in my box, 7 were lipsticks, lip kits or lip liners!
70% of the products I received in my box were lip products!

I’d received 3 lip liners (all different shades of brown/nude), 2 nude lipsticks (which were beautiful but very close together in shades) and another lip kit in Cherry Pie (which is a lovely bright red).
I’ve used the lip liners before and they’re ok. They do stay on well, but they’re quite a dry formula compared to their new ones. I’ve also received 2 of the 3 lip liner shades in previous bundles, so I wish there was a variety on shades they hadn’t used before in previous bundles.

The nude lipsticks look beautiful so I’m pretty happy with those, but the lip kit is a disappointment because I have it already and I don’t really use red shades.

I know they’re known for their lip kits and lip oils, but they have plenty of other products they could have given. I appreciate that they have several different shades of things as everyone uses different things, but I think it was a bit over kill in all honesty.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I like that they catered for different colour options, but they were all the same thing. If they’d thrown in a lip oil or the duo, or if they’d added their bestselling shades then it may have been a bit different.

Check out my video above to see if I’d repurchase another one, or if I’d recommend it to you to purchase if you’re curious.

Chanel No 1 De Chanel Revitalising Foundation REVIEW

04:09 0 Comments

Hi guys,

Chanel have recently released their new skincare, makeup and fragrance line - No 1 De Chanel.

This line is sustainable with their packaging and there being no leaflets - they have QR Codes on the boxes which has all information about the product you’ve purchased. They also contain the Red Camellia Flower with 5 anti-ageing benefits and 94% naturally derived ingredients. This is Chanel’s most natural product they’ve created - and it took them 10 years to create!

The foundation comes in 20 shades - which is less than a lot of their other foundations. Luckily, I was able to get my usual shade BD31.

I did a first impression video on my YouTube channel above, where you can see me apply with both a brush and a sponge, I show you how it builds up and a 10 hour wear test! Subscribe to my YouTube channel here!

Now onto the review.

The bottle contains the standard 30ml / 1 fl oz, and the packaging is frosted glass with a plastic lid with the Chanel logo.

The packaging felt very lightweight compared to others like the Les Beiges foundation where the glass packaging is pretty heavy.

I was excited to test this out as it says that it’s suitable for sensitive skin - I have very sensitive acne prone skin so I always have to be careful about which products I use on my face. I was also a little dubious as it says that it’s suitable for all skin types - I have very oily skin so usually a product which can work for dry skin will not also work for me and my oils.

I bought my usual shade - BD31 and the shade is exactly the same as my others in this shade.

There’s not much of a scent to the foundation which I like, and it goes on very light.

My skin with no foundation. You can see a lot of blemishes and redness.

With one layer I get a sheer-light coverage, and I can build it up to light-medium. If you’re after a full coverage foundation, this is not for you.

This won’t cover acne or blemishes, and it won’t fully cover redness but evens the redness out a little. If you want to cover those blemishes, you’ll need use a concealer as well.

I use 2 layers of the foundation with a sponge, and it’s not the best at building up - you have to be very quick before it dries.

2 layers of the foundation.

But I do like the finish I get with this. It’s a little luminous, but also a little matte so looks quite natural - if you’re after a natural look then the Les Beiges foundation would be the one to go for.

It lasts pretty well with my oily skin for 8 hours, and I don’t really need to blot, however it does come off a little on my forehead and on the side of my face so it’s not super long lasting. So, if I want it to look nice around this time then I just build up a little bit on these areas.

The rest of my makeup glides on very easily and I actually prefer the way it looks with the extra products added as you can’t see the blotches.

This did cling to my dry patches, so probably wouldn’t suit very dry skin.

I did have a little bit of itchiness under my nostril and on the side on my face when using this, but it’s only happened twice out of the past month I’ve been wearing it.

Overall, I like this foundation but I’m not in love with it. I prefer my Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet and Les Beiges foundations more than this.

It’s probably because I’m quite picky with my foundations as they have to not break me out, control my oils and look quite natural on the skin.

I wouldn’t repurchase it but if you’re on the fence, I’d say try it out!

I’d give this 3/5 stars. It’s not the best foundation, but it’s not the worst I’ve tried. Out of the ones I’ve tested from Chanel, this is the lowest ranking. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Chanel No5 Holiday 2021 Collection REVIEW

04:00 0 Comments

 Hi guys,

It’s been a while since I actually posted on my blog! I’ve been trying to get back into social since I had a little break due to being so busy with work for the past year!

I wanted my first post back to be about a very popular collection from Chanel. There has never been a Chanel collection where I actually bought multiple items - I bought the blush duo for spring 2021, and that was really the only limited edition piece I purchased … until now that is.

When I saw the collection advertised, I know that I needed to pick up almost one of everything as there are items I’ve never tried before!

Every piece is limited edition with the exception of the lipstick in the shade Pirate.

My try on video is above on my YouTube channel and here

I have photos from each item I purchased, as well as a little review for each product and if I’d recommend picking them up.

Chanel No5 Holiday Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is actually the first one I’ve tried out from Chanel, and I was so excited to start using it. The shades are beautiful - matte black, gold shimmer, frosted white and an iridescent white.

The embossed pans are a great touch they’ve added as the collection is based on Chanel No5.

Saying this, I do wish they had exchanged the top white shade for a transition shade as I can’t use this palette on its own - I either have to go in with my bronzer or a shade from another palette - and that completely defeats the purpose of having a quad.

The gold and iridescent white (bottom) swatched beautifully however I would say to use your fingers to Pat on the colour as it will make more of an impact.

The black was a bit of a let down for me as it swatches quite sheer and you need to build the colour up quite a lot. This isn’t so bad if you just like a wash of colour, but for me a Smokey eye is all about the drama.

The frosted white also didn’t swatch the best and I could only really use this as a topper which you don’t need as the iridescent shade is so beautiful and can easily replace this.

I’ve used the palette quite a few times to create a softer look by using a brown from another palette and using the gold and iridescent shades as a highlighter and lid shade which look beautiful. I like that you can use this palette softly or deeper depending on which shades you use.

The packaging is beautiful just like any other Chanel quad, and you have the gold CC instead of the plain white on the packaging.

The packaging is very sturdy and you have the little applicators for if you’re on the go, or if you want to create an eyeliner with the black.

Overall, it’s a nice palette and if you want to collect them I’d say go ahead and buy, but other than that you don’t NEED to buy it.

The lack of transition shade and pigmentation of 2 of the shades brings the score down.

Score : 7/10

Chanel Fluide Elumineur in Or Ivoire

This is the first illuminizer I’ve tried from Chanel - even though I have the other 2 shades of the healthy glow highlighters but have yet to try.

I have to say that I was pretty worried when I saw the shade that it would be too to however when swatched and applied to my skin, this gives such a beautiful wash of colour and shimmer (when mixed with foundation) and a gorgeous highlight when added to the specific points of the face.

You get A LOT of product for the price - £40 for 30ml or 1 fl oz - and you don’t even need to use an entire pump when highlighting the face so a little goes a very long way! When compared to benefit high beam which is £15.50 for 6ml, (£2.58 vs £1.33 per ml) it works out much better in the long run!

I used 1 pump when I mixed with foundation, but only 3-4 drops to highlight my cheekbones, nose, lip and brow bone and that’s with me adding several layer to the cheekbones!

The highlight is BLINDING but you can tone it down by doing a no makeup makeup look or by simply using less product. This doesn’t need to be set with powder - and I have very oily skin!

It also doesn’t irritate my very sensitive skin or break my acne prone skin out either.

This is a staple in my makeup routine now and I even purchased a second bottle as a backup as it’s limited so won’t be able to buy again.

Overall, I absolutely ADORE this product and I will constantly recommend them to everyone!

Score: 1000/10

Chanel Baume Essentiel in Or

This product is one of those that I wish I had never bought! I haven’t tried this product but I heard a lot of people raving about them, saying you can get a glass skin effect and that it looks beautiful on the skin.

This limited edition version has gold sparkles - reminiscent to the Chanel No5 bottle.

Well, I don’t see the hype around this at all.

To me, it literally was like I had just rubbed Vaseline on my collarbone and shoulders. There’s a tiny hint of shimmer but it’s not noticeable.

For £35, I thought that it would be something revolutionary. It wasn’t and isn’t. If I want the same effect, I would rub some Vaseline on me, or if I want a better effect, I’d just use my body glow from Revolution which is £15 for a huge bottle!

Plus, when I twisted the product a little and tried to twist it back down, it didn’t want to budge so I had to push it down with my finger - not the most sanitary product.

I don’t recommend it and I suggest you save your money.

Score: 0/10

Chanel No 5 Rouge Allure Lipsticks

I don’t think I’ve purchased these intense lipsticks before - and they don’t tend to do anything other than matte when they do a collection so this was a pleasant surprise.

I picked up 3 of the 5 shades as 4 were different variations of red and there was one nude-pink (although the website states it’s a red).

The shades I picked up were 176 Independante, 99 Pirate and 191 Rouge Brulant. When looking at the reds separately, you can’t really see much difference, but when putting them side by side they look nothing the same!

Independante is more or a bright red, where as Pirate is a true red. Both were very different to eachother so could justify buying the two. I only tend to go for red in winter and around Christmas so they wouldn’t get much used out of them. I’ve wanted Pirate for a long time as it’s one of Chanel’s classic shades and is always on the must buy lists on all blogs and most on YouTube.

Rouge Brulant I picked up as I always go for pink-nude lipsticks and this was slightly different as it has a hint of red. It’s very strange as I don’t have a shade that looks like this and I have a lot of lipsticks!

The only shade I have worn is independante and it’s STUNNING! The shade is very pigmented - one swipe is enough. Stays on most of the day and just elevates any look. I highly recommend picking this up if you only want to buy a lipstick - you won’t be disappointed.

Overall, I really like this formula and it’s probably my favourite formula for Chanel lipsticks - the Rouge Allure Lacque and Tenue Duos are my favourite lip colours overall from Chanel. I will get a lot of use out of Independante as it’s so beautiful and I don’t have anything the same in my collection.

I’ve given a point off as they don’t stay on All day and you need to reapply after a while.

Score - 9/10

Final thoughts

Overall, this collection was nice, but there are only a couple of pieces I’d say to buy if you want to get something from the collection.

The illuminizer and the Independante Lipstick are my go-to product as I can see me using these until they’re finished. Go and pick these 2 items up if you want to buy from the collection.

Only buy the palette if you really love the shades or if you’re a collector. You don’t need to buy it but it’s a nice piece.

Don’t buy the Baume Essentiel unless you know you love the formula and the product - this you can just skip.

Thanks for reading and watching,
